Bluebells!

On a visit to Brynmill Park this week we found some beautiful Bluebells. The kids were fascinated and my 3 year old mindee even had to give them a gentle shake to see if they would ring! They inspired us to do a very simple Bluebell finger painting when we got home. To see them in all their glory find a wood near you by searching on this website Bluebell Woods

Sul y Mamau Hapus/Happy Mother's Day!

We've been making some very simple gifts for Mother's Day - something that both my 21 month old and my 3 year old mindee can manage with minimal help: a heart card made out of handprints and some heart and butterfly cookies. Not very adventurous but very sweet!

A visit to Penlan Toy Library

Check out our stash of 'new' toys, and they didn't cost a penny! We paid a visit to Swansea's Children Centre in Penlan where they have a well-stocked toy library. You can check out as many items as you like for up to 4 weeks. We came away with a pop-up tent, a story sack, puzzles, dressing up and musical instruments, all lovely and clean and in great condition.

Cress Egg Heads!

We've bought some seeds ready to plant some flowers and vegetables in the garden but it's a bit cold and miserable still. So while we wait for it to warm up we've made some Cress Egg Heads! Not the most original idea but the kids loved it - they were ready in a week, prefect for young children who find waiting for things to grow a slow process.

Under the sea (sort of!)

Sensory/Imaginative Play

It's been a while since my last post as I've been busy welcoming my first customer - Hobbsy's House is officially open for business! I'm enjoying finding lots of different ways to amuse and entertain my new recruit - this was a tray of water beads, set up with a boat, some pirates, turtles, a fish. Oh and a car and a lego man! Everyone, including my elder children aged 5 and 7, has enjoyed playing 'in the sea' as well as enjoyed the sensation of these funny, slippery, squidgy balls.
